Sexual Assault & Domestic Violence Center of Yolo County

Our Mission: To eliminate sexual assault and domestic violence through sensitive prevention, intervention, and treatment.

Our History: In 1977, a group of concerned community members created the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center. The Center began to provide crisis intervention services to battered women and sexual assault victims in Yolo County and a 24-hour crisis hotline, individual counseling, and support groups. The need for services continued to grow and, in 1980, Harper House, our county's only shelter for battered women and children, was opened. In 1982, a child abuse prevention component was added, and in 1987 the Latina Outreach Program was launched. In January of 1994, the Child Sexual Abuse Treatment Program was added. It is a long-term treatment program for children who are victims of sexual abuse and for their families.

According to the Department of Justice, in 2005 Yolo County had more sexual assault per capita than Sacramento and San Diego counties. (Dept. of Justice) ~ We need more help.  We need your help!

"A Rose is a Rose" Sterling Silver Pendant was created by Rose Gilley Designs to assist in providing support to SADVC.   With each purchase of the pendant 50% of proceeds will go to SADVC.  To find out more about the Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Center of Yolo County visit
